Madeon has been on (for him at least) a production tear recently. First Icarus, and now with this phenomenal remix of The Night Out by Martin Solveig, it’s clear that 2012 is going to be a HUGE year for Hugo. Having already notched his first Ultra, and with Coachella fast approaching, this child of ’94 is poised to take one of the top spots in the dance music scene before he even turns 18. Now a little more about the song: the bass is a little heavier than what is typical in his productions, but it’s definitely a sound I’d like to see more of from him as his style continues to evolve. My only regret is that I did not have this post ready before the weekend…
Boy wizard, Madeon, just dropped a new original track called Icarus and frankly I’m pumped to hear some new material from him. The track is another example of his untouchable production skills but slightly lacks the endorphin pumping, wave of euphoria feel that kicked my ass the first time I heard Shuriken. It’s definitely more electro-y than his previous work, I suspect he’s going for a more big room sound to accompany his sky rocketing fame and touring schedule. Keep killin it you young accomplished bastard.
It’s all fun and games now but Madeon is only 17 years old. Already established as one of the most skillful producers in the world, it’s only a matter of time before he’s sleeping with your girlfriend and passing you up for that upper-management promotion.
But in all seriousness, I’m excited for many more years of music from this young and talented artist. He just released his live mashup three days ago and it already has half a million hits. It’s pretty great not only for it’s musical content but also because Madeon single-handedly bitch slaps every hack mashup artist out there. He seems to raise the bar with everything he releases and there doesn’t appear to be an end in sight. Down? Yeah me too. Smile Like You Mean It (Madeon Remix)For You (Radio Edit) Shuriken
