For any of you who aren’t addicted to soundcloud like I am. KOAN Sound dropped a preview for his new Funk Blaster EP two days ago. The track has already garnered 20,000 plays and is one of the hardest, funkiest things I’ve ever heard. That statistic is probably a little misleading because I personally have played it probably 40 times. You gotta give us more than 1:37 of a track man! Cannot wait for this to drop officially on November 1st. (Also how dope is that album cover?)
[Update] They just released two more previews (3 out of the 4 tracks) Looks like this is going to be an amazing release.
A killer set of remixes brought to you by Noisia, easily one my top 5 favorite artists in the DnB/Dubstep world. They move between the two genres artfully, and sport a massive sub bass sound. I like to think of Noisia as what an explosion would sound like if it had an intricate and playful sense of rhythm (sometimes they really mess with you). They are also super prolific, so if you haven’t given these guys an ear, get to it. Two of the newer tracks on the remixes set are Contact, featuring their familiar Grime counterpart Foreign Beggars, and Painkiller. Noisia works its familiar drum patterns change-ups in these tracks, and most importantly, brings it heavy.
Some similar artists you might like (I certainly do) are KOAN Sound and Hybris
