Blende just released a preview of their upcoming track called “Fake Love” set to release on Eskimo Records Sept 17. I try to avoid posting tracks without download links but this is too funky to not share. Instantly reminded me of Justice in their golden days – power piano and bizzy bass lines galore.
If you follow this blog you know that I’m an avid and betrayed Justice fan. They were the tits when I first started getting serious about electronic music and I devoured everything they released. The following years of silence have not been kind as I have yet to find an artist that I relate to as closely.
This is where Turkish producer Opptimo comes in. His Travellers EP was released last year on La Bombe but was not discovered by me until today. The song that sold me was “Locate”,a beepy, arpeggio heavy piece that infuses ethereal sound with a crunchy, heavily processed piano chord progression. The piano is distinctly Justice-like and immediately turns the song on it’s head after the ominous introduction.
Seriously Justice, it’s about freaking time. Justice blew up with “Cross”, one of my favorite complete albums ever, and a string of sick remixes then… nothing. After what seems like years of radio silence the French duo is ready to release their new single “Civilization” tomorrow March 28th. Thanks to Beat Juice for uploading a radio rip. Go buy this track when it officially drops.
